The RNC chairman supported Trump through his at-times controversial campaign for president.
Trump also announced Sunday that his campaign CEO, Steve Bannon, will serve as chief strategist and senior counselor in Trump’s incoming administration.
Bannon is the former head of the alt-right outlet Breitbart News -- a site that espouses views embraced by anti-Semites and white nationalists.
Although Priebus and Bannon will have different roles in the White House, the Trump team says the two will work as "equal partners."
