CLEVELAND COUNTY -- A secretary at Crest High School in Shelby has been charged with five counts of sexual activity with a student.
According to the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office, an investigation began after a mother of a student at the school discovered that her son and the secretary were having a sexual relationship over the last two months. She found out after anonymous calls congratulating her on being a grandmother. Her son and the secretary, Laurie Marie Bowling, both admitted to having a sexual relationship.
Authorities also discovered the secretary had a sexual relationship with another student at the school.
Bowling, who is reportedly pregnant, has a secure bond set at $50,000.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities review more cell phone data and interview students.
