WILMINGTON -- Hundreds of people gathered at UNCW Wednesday night to get the scoop on leadership from a special guest.

Jerry Greenfield, Co-founder of Ben and Jerry’s Homemade Incorporated, visited the campus to discuss entrepreneurship as part of the university’s Leadership Lecture Series.

He spoke about his journey and the responsibility of being an entrepreneur, including marketing, investing and applying values to a business.

Greenfield says being able to hear about someone's first-hand experience is a valuable tool, especially for college students.

"No matter what you learn in the classroom- out there in the big bad world things aren't always the way they seemed in the classroom. So I think to talk about real-world experiences is really helpful,” said Greenfield.

Everyone in the audience received a treat after the lecture, some Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.
