CHARLOTTE -- Lots of smiles were on Charlotte kids' faces after they were able to get a good lesson on dental health.

Colgate drove its mobile van into town Saturday.

The program, called “Bright smiles, Bright futures,” offers free dental screenings and treatment referrals to children aged three to 12.

One organizer says its all for an important cause.

"We are trying to get the message out how important it is to have a dental home, taking care of your dental health and getting the message of just brushing, eating healthy,” said Dorothy Dixon, of Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures.

The dental van made stops at Family Dollar stores on Sunset and Beatties Ford roads.
