CHARLOTTE -- Garbage and recycling collection for Charlotte residents is a day early this week because of the Christmas holiday.
Solid waste services wants to get the word out, noting that last Saturday only 20 percent of city residents' garbage was collected during that special holiday schedule.
With families getting together and exchanging gifts, the city doesn't want your trash to keep piling up.
The normal pickup schedule will resume on Dec. 28.
