ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. -- The Rowan County Sheriff's Office, Mooresville Police, and the SBI charged two people who they say were involved in a large scale heroin trafficking operation.
Police arrested Orion Adams, 23, and Dominique Davis, 19, after a traffic stop that turned into a chase, when officers said Davis drove away on Monday night.
Investigators say the couple was getting drugs from Mexican nationals in Charlotte and taking them to the Rowan County and Mooresville areas.
Both are charged with numerous trafficking and drug charges.
"The public sees a lot of these things going on and gets suspicious but you know if they can provide tag numbers to police we're in a position to follow up that information,” said chief deputy David Ramsey, RCSO.
Investigators seized a handgun and about $4,000 worth of heroin.
Adams' bond is set at $1 million and Davis' bond is set at $50,000.
They are being held at the Rowan County Detention Center.
