CONCORD, N.C. -- The Coca-Cola 600 is happening at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday night.

The action started with last weekend's All-Star Race, which for the first time in 2015 was a couple of laps longer.

For the past 10 days the Charlotte-Concord area hosted race fans from every state and even several other countries.

"You meet new people you get to see people, each and every year, they come visit your camp site just some good friendship, time away from work,” said Mark Strotman from West Virginia.

In early May, Governor Pat Mcrory declared May as Motorsports Month in North Carolina.

Racing brings millions of dollars to the state's economy.
