MATTHEWS -- There are new details emerging about a disturbing robbery this weekend in Matthews.
Authorities continue to search for the suspect who they say posed as a police officer Saturday night and made off with a man's wallet and prescription medication.
"He pulls me out of the car, more or less slams me up against mine, has my hands up, pats me, frisks me," said the victim, who didn’t want to show his face or have his name published.
The impersonator was wearing a dark uniform and a fake badge and drove a white Crown Victoria, similar to the cars driven by the Matthews Police Department. The car also had a flashing blue light on the bumper.
"I'm just glad I didn't have my wife and my newborn in the car with me," the victim added.
The victim says the suspect is a white male, just over six feet tall, weighs about 190 pounds with black hair and a mustache.
If you have any information about this crime you're asked to contact police.
Officers say if you're uncomfortable while being pulled over you should put your flashers on, call 911 and pull into a well lit parking lot.
