WILMINGTON, N.C. – A Wilmington business owner was recognized for her work with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

• Amy Wright was awarded with the Civitan International World Citizenship Award.
• The award recognizes those who make significant contributions to mankind.
• Wright owns four coffee shops that employee people with IDD

Amy Wright, the founder of Bitty and Beau’s coffee, was awarded the Civitan International World Citizenship Award.

The recognition is typically given to people “who have made significant contributions to mankind.”

Past award winners include Winston Churchill, President Dwight D. Eisenhower and Eunice Kennedy Shriver.
