State Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey handily won his primary on March 5, beating out his closest challenger by nearly 40 points.
But the win comes against the backdrop of a tumultuous few years for Causey, with legislators in his own party stripping him of some powers and accusations of improper hiring practices within his agency.
