Several new laws were enacted this month in North Carolina. Tonight, we speak to some of the state lawmakers who had a hand in creating them.

One of the new laws involves harsher penalties for certain drugs, including fentanyl. Sen. Ted Alexander, a Republican from Cleveland County who cosponsored the bill, joins us to discuss.

We also sit down with Rep. Jeffrey McNeely, a Republican from Iredell County, who cosponsored a new law on preventing rioting and civil disorder. 

Sens. Rachel Hunt from Mecklenburg County and Paul Lowe from Forsyth County, Democrats who cosponsored legislation aimed at protecting critical infrastructure after recent attacks on the power grid in Moore County, stop by with more.
