Karla Redditte joined Spectrum News as a morning co-anchor in January 2021. She is an Emmy Award-winning news anchor and reporter who has worked in various markets throughout the South, including Richmond, Virginia; Huntsville, Alabama; Savannah, Georgia; and Biloxi, Mississippi.

She is a native of Memphis, Tennessee, who received her undergraduate degree from Loyola University in New Orleans and a graduate degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. 

Karla is a true storyteller with the ability to connect with any audience. During her career, she has covered several major stories, including Hurricane Katrina, the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination, and the unveiling of Kehinde Wiley's "Rumors of War" in New York's Times Square, which was created in response to the Confederate monuments throughout the nation. No matter the subject, viewers depend on Karla for well-researched, trustworthy, and, at times, entertaining reports.

Part of her connection with the audience can be attributed to her work within the community. She has been a regular volunteer and speaker for nearly two decades. She has earned numerous journalism and volunteerism awards. She was most recently recognized by the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas as an awards finalist in the News Anchor of the Year category.

Karla is a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists, the Society of Professional Journalists, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

When she is not working, she travels the world (and blogs about it). Her most recent stops included Peru, Panama, Jamaica, South Africa, Cuba, Brazil, Haiti, India, and Senegal. Karla is a former dancer (ballet, tap, jazz, and Brazilian samba). In addition to traveling, she also enjoys learning cultural dances, exercising, reading, and visiting local museums.
