FENTON, MO. – St. Louis County Police say an adult male is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Fenton about 10 a.m. Friday. St. Louis County Police say officers approached a residence on Hawkins Bend Drive to arrest the suspect on first-degree harassment charges.
“They contacted the suspect, and shortly thereafter, a struggle ensued,” said Sgt. Tracy Panus in a media briefing. “The suspect did pull out a firearm, and the officers, as well as the suspect, struggled over that firearm. Eventually, both of our officers fired at the suspect, killing him there on the scene.”
Panus says the incident happened directly inside the residence. Police say one officer sustained a minor hand injury, unrelated to gunfire. The suspect’s identity has not been revealed.
This is an ongoing investigation. Police say additional information will be released as it becomes available.
