1. Boeing awarded $20 billion contract to produce next generation fighter jet

Trump announced the estimated $20 billion contract award at the White House with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Air Force leadership. The new manufacturing site for the fighter jets will be part of Boeing’s $1.8 billion expansion project in north St. Louis County, near St. Louis Lambert International Airport.  

2. Suspicious death investigation after woman’s body found in Fenton

Saint Louis County Police Department officers were called to the 300 block of south old Highway 141 in Fenton on Thursday at 2:45 p.m. for a dead body, who was identified as Nicole Jung, 45, from southern St. Louis City. Police ask anyone with information call their investigators at 636-529-8210, or for those wishing to remain anonymous and potentially receive a reward, call CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-8477.

3. Some voters are pushing back on lawmakers' efforts to overturn citizen ballot initiatives

The citizen activists, many of them heretofore strangers, had come together two days after the Missouri House passed legislation to overturn a voter-approved ballot initiative guaranteeing paid sick leave for workers and cost-of-living increases to the minimum wage.

4. Ferguson Police announce new strategic plan, community policing and engagement

The Ferguson Police Department on Thursday announced a new policing plan that aims to improve community relationships. Police Chief Troy Doyle says it’s based on a simple philosophy, helping law enforcement and citizens work together. He says residents informed the plan to capture the “essence of what police-community partnerships should look like in Ferguson.”

5. Mixed reaction from Missouri, Illinois officials on Trump's education plan

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Thursday to dismantle parts of the United States Department of Education. It has drawn mixed reaction from Missouri and Illinois officials.
