Lauren Brennecke is from Fenton but has lived around St. Louis and St. Charles County for her entire life. Her background is in radio, starting with her high school’s classic rock station. Lauren went on to work at her college newspaper before beginning an internship at a St. Louis NPR affiliate station. She graduated from Webster University in 2024 with a degree in Media Studies.

Lauren loves finding stories from off the beaten path, especially of the human interest and environment/nature variety. Lauren is a journalist because she values curiosity and identifying the messy and imperfect details (good or bad) that are often overlooked in our local communities. There are so many interesting tidbits and characters in St. Louis, and Lauren is excited to share their stories on Spectrum News.

Lauren spends all her free time traveling and has been to around a dozen countries -- it's her goal to see them all. In her additional free time, she is usually with her dog watching reality TV or reading.
