Elizabeth Barmeier, a native of Ballwin, is honored to be a journalist with the Spectrum News St. Louis digital team. With a degree in multimedia production and journalism from Drury University, Elizabeth has worked at two Missouri-based newspaper and one local St. Louis TV station. Elizabeth is the recipient of several awards for her stories and photos, including a first-place award from the National Newspaper Association for best serious column.

Elizabeth is passionate about putting herself in other’s shoes and telling stories through their eyes. She loves to stay up to date with current events to keep her readers and viewers informed. One of the most meaningful stories Elizabeth contributed to was National Walkout Day in 2016, when she had the opportunity to report on students across St. Clair practicing their freedom of speech.

Over the past two years, Elizabeth has enjoyed reconnecting with the St. Louis region, bringing impactful, newsworthy stories and content for Spectrum News audiences. 

When she’s not at work, Elizabeth explores the St. Louis food scene, spends time with her nephew and niece, and goes hiking with her dog.
