“We visited a lot of soccer stadiums across the world,” said Matt Sebek, St. Louis CITY SC’s Chief Experience Officer at the new food vendor unveiling, “We also visited a lot of location-based entertainment venues, theme parks, concert venues, and there were really two visits that stood out amongst others. That was Disney World and Apple, and really what we heard from both of those was to create an experience that really hit on all five senses, and we've really tried to make that a part of the experience here at Energizer Park.”

The moment media walked into Energizer Park for the food vendor unveiling, alluring aromas teased them as they took the stairs to the Moneta Pitch Club.

For the first time in the stadium, guests will enjoy Pappy’s Smokehouse, Bolyard’s, Chicken Scratch, and “Damn Fine Hand Pies” as well as other returning Saint Louis grub. Every food vendor within Energizer Park is from the St. Louis area.

“I think the one feedback we get from visitors all the time coming into Energizer Park,” said Sebek. “It is the best smelling stadium in the world, and I could not agree more and that's because there's nothing to hide. It's real food cooked by local restaurateurs and entrepreneurs right here in our stadium. We have over 20 local restaurants as a part of our food experience.”

“it feels like we're family here,” said Rory Sullivan, booth manager for Pappy’s Smokehouse. “We have all friends here, so it just feels like we belong and I think we're gonna do really well.”

Sullivan added each of their locations sell out of high-interest meats such as burnt ends every day and the stadium will give locals a chance to eat those favorites later than usual.

Sweet tooths will love the buffalo chicken dip hand pie from the Hand Pies vendor. In speaking with others at the unveiling, the consensus new dishes that you “can’t-miss,” were Pappy’s fall-off-the-bone ribs, the savory pork stew from Bolyard’s and Chicken Scratch’s juicy nuggets.

“They’re nice size nuggets, it's gonna be nice for the stadium,” said Nate Hereford, owner of Chicken Scratch. “It's nice little biters while you're sitting down watching the game having fun, I'd say that'd be the move if it was me.”

Paying in the stadium will be easier than ever with all vendors (food, beverage and merchandise) accepting CITY Pay via the STL CITY SC app. Multiple vendors use order ahead through the app including returning vendors: Steve’s Hotdogs and Balkan treat Box. Anyone that uses CITY Pay at the stadium will receive 5% cashback and myCITY+ loyalty members may earn 10% cashback. CITY SC added a fourth walkout market, this one in the southwest corner. Energizer Park now has more dedicated walkout markets than any other Major League Soccer venue.

Sebek said last season nearly one in four food orders came through the CITY Pay app and more than 60% of the orders occurred prior to kick-off.

Also in 2024, over $2.5M went to local restaurants inside Energizer Park through the CITY Flavor program curated by the club and James Beard Award-winning Chef Gerard Craft (a semifinalist for the 2025 James Beard Awards), who returns as Energizer Park’s Chief Flavor Officer. Craft helped handpick the new partners, whose menu offerings include a pork panini from Bolyard’s, a pulled rotisserie chicken sandwich from Chicken Scratch, buffalo chicken dip hand pie from Damn Fine Hand Pies, and a burnt ends sandwich from Pappy’s.

St. Louis CITY SC recently changed the name of CITYPARK to Energizer Park, added new head coach Olof Mellberg, and unveiled a new kit.
