ST. LOUIS — St. Louis' City Water Division has canceled the boil water advisory for portions of its service area due to low water pressure caused by a broken 36” water main. The neighborhoods that were in the affected area were:

  • Jeff-Vander-Lou
  • Carr Square
  • St. Louis Place
  • Benton Park
  • Marine Villa
  • Soulard

The City Water Division has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for portions of its service area due to low water pressure caused by a broken 36” water main.

Officials have not detected any contamination to the water supply and but issued the boil water advisory out of an abundance of caution.The Water Division will analyze water samples before determining when to lift the boil water advisory. Test results will be in 24 hours. Details can be found here: https://www.stlwater.com.

If you are affected by the boil order, you need to:

  • Boil water vigorously for three minutes prior to use
  • Use only water that has been boiled for drinking, diluting fruit juices, all other food preparation and brushing teeth.
  • Dispose of ice cubes and do not use ice from a household automatic ice maker. Remake ice cubes with water that has been boiled
  • Disinfect dishes and other food contact surfaces by immersion for at least one minute in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water
