The Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded Monday night after a 27-year-old woman was injured in an apparent firework accident on Halona Road in Waianae.

Paramedics treated and transported the woman who suffered shrapnel wounds to her arms, legs and chest after apparently setting off a firework, according to EMS. 

EMS transported her in serious condition to a hospital.
