Maui County is continuing its efforts to gather feedback about a possible ferry to connect Lanai and Molokai with Maui. 

The Maui County Department of Transportation is conducting the Maui County Ferry Feasibility Study, which was initiated by the Maui County Council. 

As part of the study, a second round of community workshops is scheduled to take place. 

The workshop locations and dates are:

  • Lahaina: Monday, Oct. 14, 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the County Office of Recovery-West Maui, Lahaina Gateway Center, Unit 102-B, 325 Keawe St.
  • Lanai: Tuesday, Oct. 15, 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Lanai Public Library, 555 Fraser Ave., Lanai City.
  • Molokai: Wednesday, Oct. 16, 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Mitchell Pauole Center, 90 Ainoa St., Kaunakakai.
  • Kahului: Thursday, Oct. 17, 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Kahului Community Center, 275 Uhu St.

According to a news release about the upcoming community workshops, feedback will help in understanding the communities’ needs and preferences for a potential ferry service.
