Kapolei City Lights is back with a “Westside Wonderland” theme.
The holiday cheer will kick off with a block party near Kapolei Hale on Dec. 9 at 5 p.m. A Christmas parade will start at 6 p.m. Mayor Rick Blangiardi’s tree lighting ceremony will be at 7 p.m.
The block party will include food trucks, live music, local vendors and the first viewing of decorations around Kapolei Hale that will remain on display until Jan. 2.
The live entertainment stage will be near the intersection of Ala Kahawai and Alohikea Streets. It will be emceed by Councilmember Augie Tulba and Comedian Rodney Villanueva.
The parade will include dozens of decked-out vehicles, floats and VIPS. The parade will start outside Kapolei High School on Fort Barrette Road, then it will take a left on Kapolei Parkway and end at Kealakapu Street.
A 45-foot Cook Pine tree will stand outside of Kapolei Hale on the mauka side of the building. The tree was harvested from Makaunulau Community Park in Mililani.
The decorations will be open for public viewing on Monday to Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. On holidays, the decorations will be open for viewing from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
