HONOLULU — The Hawaii Department of Transportation announced an increased parking rate for six or more hours, plus a new maximum daily rate for the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport will begin July 1.

The parking rate up to five to six hours will remain the same, but parking for six to seven hours will increase to $20 (from $19); seven to eight hours will increase to $22 (from $20); and eight hours and more will increase to $24 (from $22).

According to HDOT, the previous administration negotiated the incremental rate structure in 2018 under the long-term airport parking agreement. Based on the agreement, the parking concessionaire began modernizing systems including fiber optic installations, a camera tracking system for entering and departing vehicles, automated calculations of parking fees, and LED displays of available stalls.

The current rate parking rates went into effect on Jan. 1, 2023, the first time since 2015 that the rates were raised.

The free 15-min. grace period will continue for individuals dropping off or picking up passengers at HNL. The free airport cell phone lots will also continue to be available.

Visit the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport website for parking information.
