The first-ever dog park on Lanai will open on April 29
The blessing and grand opening of Fraser Avenue Lanai Dog Park will take place at 4 p.m. The park is on Fraser Avenue, near Caldwell Avenue, in Lanai City.
Maui County Department of Parks and Recreation Director Patrick McCall and Maui County Councilmember Gabe Johnson, who represents Lanai, will speak at the ceremony.
The dog park will provide a safe, accessible space for off-leash play, according to a news release. Key features included two fenced areas for separate play zones for small and large dogs; four parking stalls, two of which are designated for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) access; ADA-compliant sidewalks; and a water fountain.
DPR temporarily closed Fraser Avenue Park in Feb. 2025 for the construction of the dog park. The project, constructed by contractor Kitsap Construction LLC, was completed ahead of its expected Sept. 2025 completion date.
