KAILUA, Hawaii — Portions of Kapaa Quarry Rd. will close on Sunday, Oct. 23 to allow for the filming of a movie production that requires precision drivers to perform a car stunt sequence.
The stretch of Kapaa Quarry Rd. from Kalanianaole Hwy. to the Kapaa Transfer Station will close from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Residents who need to access the Kapaa Transfer Station should enter Kapaa Quarry Rd. from the Kalaheo High School side.
“We would like to thank the community for their kokua and understanding,” said Honolulu Film Commissioner Walea Constantinau in a news release. “This particular project will inject over $40 million into our economy and includes over 6,000 room nights at various hotels around the island, created over 125 local jobs, and has an active internship program to help train the next generation of local filmmakers.”
