There are a couple of traffic alerts for drivers traveling through the city of Rochester.

The city will be closing down part of Ford Street on Wednesday for the next few weeks. The closure is between Exchange Street and Dr. Samuel McCree Way.

The city says workers have to do some rehab work on the roundabout. Drivers are asked to find alternative routes and to obey all temporary signage, flaggers and detours during the closure.

The road is set to reopen on Oct. 18.

Also on Wednesday, a portion of W. Main Street, between Broad Street and Madison Street, will begin to undergo roadway milling and resurfacing. That project is expected to last through Oct. 2, weather permitting, but this portion of W. Main Street will remain open during the work.

Drivers are advised to expect delays and lane shifts during the workday and are encouraged to seek alternate routes if possible. Parking restrictions will be in place during the work.
