MANCHESTER, N.Y. — State police say a woman is dead following a crash on the New York State Thruway.

Troopers say it happened just after 11 a.m. on Saturday on the eastbound side in the town of Manchester.

The driver, Jane Grein, 59, of Churchville, died when her car left the road and struck a concrete support to a bridge over the thruway at exit 43, police say.

Investigators believe a medical event may have contributed to the crash.
