CUYLERVILLE, N.Y. — At least one person is dead after a car hit a building and started a fire in Livingston County early Tuesday morning.
This happened on a curve on Route 20A in Cuylerville.
The sheriff says the car left the roadway, and the impact started a fire in the commercial structure that several fire departments fought throughout the morning.
The driver died in the crash.
Sheriff Tom Dougherty says it'll take a while before investigators know what happened.
"We know the cause of the fire is the vehicle into the building," said Dougherty. "Beyond that, what caused it to ignite, we have to look at. Did the vehicle cause it, or something in the building that caught fire? Those are the things we'll be working with fire coordinators on."
The name of the driver has not yet been released.
