The Seneca Park Zoo has a new addition.

A 5-year-old Canada lynx named Albert was transferred from Woodland Park Zoo in Washington state on Oct. 9 and is now settling in at the zoo.

He joins the zoo's resident lynx Bianca to form a breeding pair.

“Once again, the AZA is recognizing the quality of care at the Seneca Park Zoo,” Monroe County Executive Adam Bello said in a statement. “The Seneca Park Zoo is committed to preserving species that are endangered or pressured in challenged habitats. A new breeding pair of Canada Lynx helps that mission.”

Zoo officials say that once Albert clears quarantine, staff will begin to carefully introduce the two lynx to each other.

The public is invited to see Albert on habitat the first week in November.
