All surgeries are back on at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

The health system says its full schedule of elective and semi-elective cases has resumed.

The pause, effective on Oct. 16, was due to an IV fluid shortage after Hurricane Helene knocked out production facilities in North Carolina. This led to a nationwide shortage of these medical products.

URMC says it is able to get back on track through conservation, using alternatives and shipments from other suppliers.
