GREECE, N.Y. — Chick-fil-A on Ridge Road in Greece is officially open for business. The restaurant opened early Thursday morning and the people camping outside for some 24 hours were the first ones in.

It's the first Chick-fil-A in Monroe County and the first 100 customers were greeted with cheers and gift cards good for 52 free chicken sandwich meals.

Nick Newhart and his dad camped out for 24 hours to get the chicken prize.

"For me there is always half that of the sandwich that is thicker and juicier than the rest and when you find that bite, you know it," Newhart said.

It took owner Alan Taylor eight years to open the franchise in his hometown of Greece. Chick-fil-A is headquarted in Atlanta.

"We have been waiting, waiting so long for this. I love it!" said Cliff Provost.

This is the second Chick-Fil-A in the region — one in Syracuse opened in February. Buffalo and Plattsburgh locations are expected to open by the end of the year.
