The Richland County Sheriff's Office said nearly 130 guns were found inside the home 74-year-old Fred Hopkins, the man charged with killing one officer and injuring six.
The sheriff said Hopkins "ambushed the officers when they arrived to question his son about a child sex assault case” and that he was surprised by what was found.
Florence police officer Terrence Carraway was killed in the shooting.
