BOONE, N.C. – The Watauga County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation into a landslide that killed two people that were trapped in a home in Boone.
- Home collapsed following a landslide.
- Two people were inside the home.

Police say the landslide caused a gas leak, which destroyed the home on Pine Ridge Drive. Rescue workers were able to recover the victims' bodies.
One was confirmed dead Wednesday before the second body was found.
Their names have not been released.
