If you love extra warm temperatures, you'll want to make it outside today because winter is back tomorrow. Our record setting warmth gets knocked down by a slow-moving cold front Sunday into Monday. By Tuesday and Wednesday, another cold front moves in, bringing widespread rains across much of the state.

1. Mexico deploys the first of 10,000 National Guard to U.S. border after Trump's threat of tariffs

A line of Mexican National Guard and Army trucks rumbled along the border separating Ciudad Juárez and El Paso, Texas. It's among the first of 10,000 officers Mexico has sent to its northern frontier following tariff threats by President Donald Trump. 

2. Private school voucher bill passes the Texas Senate

Senate Bill 2, which would create education savings accounts (ESAs) to let Texas families use public funds for private school tuition, passed the Texas Senate. It now heads to the Texas House for debate. 

3. South Texas school district warns of Border Patrol agents questioning students on school buses

Alice Independent School District warned parents about reports of immigration officials boarding school buses traveling for extracurricular activities and asking students about their immigration status. 

4. Texas Rep. Al Green says he'll file new impeachment articles against Trump

Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, said he will file impeachment articles against President Donald Trump, just two weeks into his second term, citing the Israel-Hamas war as the reason.

5. Most Texans support legalizing marijuana and gambling, UH poll shows

A poll from the University of Houston’s Hobby School of Public Affairs reveals that a majority of Texans are in favor of decriminalizing marijuana and gambling across the state, further showing that the state is shifting its views on the issues.

6. Luka Doncic is excited to join the Lakers after the shock of his stunning trade away from Dallas

The Lakers formally welcomed Luka Doncic on Tuesday, less than three days after they traded Anthony Davis and Max Christie in a three-team deal for the Slovenian scorer who won his first scoring title last season before leading the Dallas Mavericks to the NBA Finals. Doncic is a five-time All-NBA selection and a five-time All-Star.

Well, you’re in luck because the “Cry Me a Cockroach Fundraiser” is back at the San Antonio Zoo. The event went viral online last year, and it's back again this year to allow people to donate money and name a cockroach, rodent or veggie after their ex, which is then fed to one of the animals.
