We kick off the first day of 2025 with sunny skies and cool temperatures for most of Texas. Afternoon highs will be very close to average for the season.
Clouds and a few showers will be found in the Rio Grande Valley on New Year’s Day, but clouds return to the rest of Texas by Thursday. A few sprinkles are possible for the southern half of the state, but no significant rain is anticipated.
Day by day high temperatures creep up a couple degrees during the week until a warming trend begins into the weekend. Some showers are possible Saturday and Sunday, first across Central Texas followed by North Texas.
Then our focus turns to a strong polar cold front will blast into Texas by Monday of next week. It will bring the coldest temperatures so far this winter.
