While the remnants of Helene continue to bring wind damage and catastrophic flooding to the southeast U.S., Texas is enjoying the pleasant aspects of that storm.

The Lone Star State is situated under a strong northerly flow on the western side of the system, which brings dry air across the region. This means mild to cool mornings and warm afternoons for nearly all of the state through the weekend.

North winds will be somewhat breezy Friday and Saturday, but overall the next few days will be perfect for outdoor events, especially in the evenings. Temperatures will fall quickly into the 70s after sunset, making for very pleasant conditions.

Look for morning lows in the upper 50s and low 60s for north Texas, 60s for central regions and middle 60s across south Texas. Afternoon highs will be on the warm side with upper 80s north to the middle 90s south.

No rain is expected through the next 5-6 days.
