LUBBOCK, Texas — One hundred Texas Tech Red Raiders football players will receive a one-year, $25,000 NIL contract from the Matador Club.

The deal is eligible to all 85 players on the team and 15 of the top walk-ons, according to ESPN. Payments will start to go out the first week of August and will be made monthly. They can be renewed annually. All players who sign the deal must participate in local community service.

Signing the contract with the Matador Club will not restrict the Red Raiders from other NIL deals

The Matador Club says it has plans to sign with the basketball and baseball team in the weeks and months to come.

This news of the NIL deal follows Tech’s recent announcement of a $200 million investment in football facilities.
