TEXAS — Need a ride to the polls? Agencies across the state are making it simple and free for you to vote.

CapMetro is waiving bus, trains, Pickup and bike fares to ensure Austin-area voters have access to their polling locations. The agency hopes that the free ride will encourage more voters to make their voices heard. To find out the best route for you to cast your ballot, you can use CapMetro’s online Trip Planner or the App.

Anyone who is using a MetroBike can download the BCycle app and use the promo code “BIKETOVOTE2022.”

The Capital Area Rural Transportation System will also be providing free bus rides to the polls on its country buses. It will be providing transportation in the areas of Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Travis and Williamson counties.

DART is providing free rides to polling locations as well. All DART buses, trains, the Dallas Streetcar, GoLink, Paratransit Services will be available for voters to ride without cost. The TRE between EBJ Union Station and CentrePort/DFW Airport Station is also free.

Proof of voter registration is not needed to ride free. For GoLink riders, use the promo code VOTE08 for a complimentary adult local day pass.

There is also a free roundtrip shuttle service to and from the Dallas County Elections Training/Warehouse. Riders wanting to vote at this location should use Route 222.

Via is also providing voters with complimentary rides to polls through the bus, VIA Link and VIAtrans paratransit. Passengers are reminded that they need to present a valid voter registration card to the bus or van operator.

Polls are open at 7 a.m. on Election Day and close at 7 p.m., but if you are already in line before 7 p.m., you will still be able to cast your ballot.
