ARLINGTON, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys are often the target of hatred and ridicule among football fans, but Jason Kelce recently took particular aim at the team’s city by comparing it to certain body parts.

While serving as an analyst on ESPN's “Monday Night Countdown” before a matchup between the Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals, Kelce referred to Dallas as “the butthole and armpit of America.”

It all started when analyst Mina Kimes — reporting live from “The Simpsons” universe in an alternate cast of the game — made a reference to the show, calling the fictional Springfield, Ohio, “the armpit of America’s buttcrack.”

“The Simpsons” is set in Springfield and the phrase was used throughout the show to describe the city.

Analyst Scott Van Pelt later mentioned they were in Dallas, to which Kelce passionately replied: “Also the butthole and armpit of America!”

The comment was met with opposition from the other analysts, some off camera, who repeated “Woah, woah,” and “Hey, hey!” as if to tell the former Eagles center his comment was out of pocket.

Analyst and former Cowboys defensive end Marcus Spears, who sat to the left of Kelce, didn’t seem to be fond of the comment either. Kelce insisted it was “just a joke” while others off-camera said “Was it?”

“It was just a joke because of what Mina said,” Kelce said. “We’re having fun here. I love Dallas.”

As Kelce doubled down, Spears shook his head, saying “You can’t come back, you keep talking. You’re digging the hole deeper, leave it alone. We heard you.”

It likely comes as no shock to NFL fans that the former Eagle would make a jab at Dallas.

Kelce retired earlier this year before joining “Monday Night Countdown” alongside Van Pelt, Spears and Ryan Clark in September. He also hosts the podcast “New Heights” with his younger brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
