AUSTIN, Texas — After a slew of celebrity look-alike contests taking place all over the world, Austin had its very own over the weekend, attracting onlookers and contestants competing to see who most resembles the city’s beloved hometown actor, Glen Powell.

And who better to judge the contest than the woman who knows him best? That’s right, Glen’s own mother, Cyndy Powell, chose the winner, along with some help from his aunt, Kathleen Fish.

The contest took place at the picturesque Auditorium Shores, which overlooks Lady Bird Lake and the iconic city skyline.

A video uploaded to TikTok by user @rachellately showed the scene at the contest.

The event buzzed with Austin — and Powell — energy, with contestants channeling the actor’s various roles, from his country look in “Twisters” to his green “Top Gun: Maverick” jumpsuit. The event also included an appearance from the devilish Torchy’s mascot and dogs, of course.

But the man who proved to emulate the most Powell energy was Max Braunstein, who was declared the winner by the Powell women. According to the Austin American-Statesman, his prizes were a cowboy hat, a medal, a giant check and free Torchy’s queso for a year.

Unfortunately, Powell himself couldn’t make it to the contest due shooting a movie overseas, but he was able to get on a call with Braunstein after he was crowned the winner.

It didn’t end there, though. Apart from the other prizes, Powell also offered his own personal award to sweeten the pot: a cameo in his next movie for the winner’s parents or family members of their choice.

In a video uploaded to YouTube, Powell explained that his own parents make a cameo in each one of his movies, so he wants to extend that to the winner’s family.

“I am completely serious. This is a cash value prize of $6 billion,” Powell said in the video.
