DALLAS  — A 25th anniversary calls for a huge celebration. And what’s bigger than inviting the entire D-FW metroplex to participate in a scavenger hunt?

Dallas-based sculptor Brad Oldhan, owner of Brad Oldham Sculpture, partnered with the Texas Rangers to give fans a treasure hunt experience in honor of hitting an anniversary milestone and to celebrate the Rangers’ 2023 championship legacy.

The Rangers scattered 25 Oldhan-crafted bronze baseball sculptures, titled “Baseball Forever”, across the Dallas-Forth area, and fans were encouraged to join the friendly competition.

Each baseball sculpture is coated in a bronze wax and the Rangers City Connect logo is engraved on the outside of the ball.

Inside, there is a miniature version of Oldham Sculpture’s “The Traveling Man,” a series of three metal sculptures in Deep Ellum. Originally and iconically a 41-foot-tall sculpture, the smaller figure, titled “Where Champions Live,” gives praise to Texas’ first World Series title from 2023. It showcases “The Traveling Man” standing tall over home plate with a Rangers cap on its head and a baseball over its heart.

Texas Rangers fans received a text message alert about the collaboration on Monday afternoon and have been on the hunt for the one-of-a-kind art ever since.

The baseballs were placed in locations that hold a meaningful connection to the Rangers' organization and Oldham – Riders Field, home of the Frisco RoughRiders, an affiliate of the Texas Rangers and Globe Life Field, home of the Rangers ballpark, to give some examples.

Fans who wish to participate can register online at rangers.com/baseballforever to receive a clue.

As of Tuesday afternoon, 17 of the 25 bronze baseballs have been found. Once a piece is discovered, the sculpture is theirs to keep, and the locator is invited to share the location of the discovery on the Rangers Baseball Forever page.
