AUSTIN, Texas — Austin-based taco chain Torchy’s announced new menu items debuting Wednesday in celebration of 18 years of business.

What’s new?

Two of the Taco of the Month tacos are becoming permanent menu items, according to a news release from the taco chain. The Hogfather, which debuted last year and the Cougar, will now be known as the Republican. A new vegan taco, known as the Fo Sho, will also be a new contender on the menu.

Customers can also now order fresh avocado and grilled Baja Shrimp on their tacos instead of their fried options.

For the dip lovers, The Threesome will include three dips: queso, guacamole and your choice of salsa. And brand spanking new, tator tots, smothered in queso, affectionately named Damn Good Tots.

If you’re more of a breakfast connoisseur, the Breakfast Burrito will now be a permanent staple in all locations, after only being available in Colorado.

What’s leaving?

Torchy’s is retiring its jalapeno cheddar sausage, the #4 Breakfast Taco, the Secret Menu’s Ace of Spades and the original Republican taco, that will be replaced by The Cougar.

The MoFaux, Torchy’s original plant-based option, is also making its to retirement and being replaced with the Fo Sho.

Finally, the sweet treats, Lil’ Nookies, are leaving, but Torchy’s teases they could make a special appearance for limited times.

The new menu will take effect at all 128 locations nationwide.
