Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is working on his acting chops as he makes his on-screen debut in a commercial for one of the most quintessential Texas brands: Dr Pepper.

Ewers made his debut in the season 7 premiere of the brand’s “Fansville” commercial series. The series follows fans who root for their generic football team, called "State," while donning the maroon and white of the Dr Pepper brand.

Ewers' character, "Deputy," appears alongside former NFL player and actor Brian Bosworth, also known as “The Boz,” in the episode “Into The Great Unknown.”

"I'm a new character!" Ewers said while holding a can of Dr Pepper and wearing his number 3 on a deputy's uniform.

Dr Pepper, the self-proclaimed oldest major soft drink in America, was first sold in Morrison's Old Corner Drug Store in Waco, Texas, in 1885.

The 21-year-old third-year quarterback is also set to appear in episode three, “Call For Backup,” on Aug. 26, just in time for the No. 4 Longhorns’ SEC debut on Aug. 31 in a matchup against Colorado State.
