DALLAS — We’re 58 days away from the opening on the State Fair of Texas, and as we near all the family fun, organizers have announced Sensory Friendly Mornings for the sixth year in a row.

In collaboration with the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) and other local organizations, Sensory Friendly Mornings will be held at the fair every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

During Sensory Friendly Mornings, adjustments are made across fairgrounds to accommodate any sensory-related concerns, according to a news release from the fair. Those needing these accommodations can enjoy the fair without all the zany lights and sounds. For the full itinerary, fair-goers can go here.

Families can also enjoy Midway during without the usual lights and sounds from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The usual lights and sounds will return at 1:30 p.m.

There will also be designated “quiet zones” around the park for families who become overstimulated and need to depressurize.

The State Fair of Texas kicks off on Sept. 27 and runs until Oct. 20.
