BLANCO, Texas — Horse-drawn carriages were the way to get around in Texas nearly 150 years ago. Many of those wooden relics still exist. Nearly 300 of them are on display at the Buggy Barn Museum in Blanco, Texas. Owner Dennis Moore's love for the horse and buggy goes back decades.

"I guess it started when I was 6 or 7. My dad bought my brother and me a Shetland pony and a little cart. I've had a fascination for horses and buggies ever since then," said Moore.

Some of the carriages in his collection are worth tens of thousands of dollars or more. Many of them have been featured in movies and TV shows including the hit series the "Chosen." Moore portrayed a wagon driver in the TV series "1883."

"I was blessed to work with Sam Elliot. I think I'd work for free just to work with him. He was just a humble and nice guy. No big-star attitude," said Moore.

The Old West theme continues behind the museum. Moore built an entire Western movie set complete with a general store, church and saloon. People rent out the place for parties and weddings. Movies and commercials are also made there. Moore says it's like being a kid again surrounded by horse-drawn carriages and his 1880s backlot.

"God has blessed me and I've been able to do what I want to do. It's all good!" Moore said.
