  • Participating locations include those in Houston, Golden Triangle, East Texas, Bryan-College Station-Brenham, Bay City, El Campo, Edna and Wharton

  • More than a week after Beryl made landfall in Texas, tens of thousands of CenterPoint Energy customers are still without power

From July 14 through July 21, the grocery store chain is offering a 10% discount on all frozen food items, including ice. The discount only applies to items purchased in-store and will be automatically applied at the register.

Participating locations include all stores in Houston and surrounding areas, including Golden Triangle, East Texas and the Bryan-College Station-Brenham area. Select locations in the Gulf Coast, including in Bay City, El Campo, Edna and Wharton, are also eligible for the discount.

“At H-E-B, we’re committed to supporting our communities in times of need. Texans across the Houston area and the Gulf Coast were hardest hit by the storm and have been without power for several days,” said Armando Perez, H-E-B executive vice president of Houston Food Drug. “We’re in this together with our neighbors, and this discount is a way for us to lend a hand as people begin to regain power and restock their freezers.”

Beryl struck Texas as a Category 1 hurricane on July 8 and knocked out power for about 2.7 million people. Over a week later, tens of thousands of CenterPoint Energy customers are still without power.

H-E-B provided water and other supplies to food banks before Beryl hit and sent a mobile kitchen to Sargent, Texas, to help with recovery efforts afterwards. The grocery store chain has also helped with cooling centers and provided water, ice, snacks and other supplies in impacted communities.
