DALLAS — A Dallas Police Department officer is under investigation for allegedly writing “aim better” on social media after the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump over the weekend.

On Saturday, the department received an internal complaint regarding a comment made by an officer on “a social media platform.”

Sgt. Arturo Martinez was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation, according to the department.

According to a report from the Dallas Morning News, Martinez wrote “aim better” on Instagram after the former president was grazed in the ear at his rally on Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The suspected shooter was identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was killed by the Secret Service. Officials have not determined a motive for the attack.

Fifty-year-old Corey Comperatore, a former volunteer fire chief, was killed in the gunfire while shielding his wife and daughter. Two others were injured.
