PRINCETON, Texas — Police announced Monday they have charged four people in connection to a forced labor operation at multiple locations in North Texas.
Officers were dispatched on March 13 to respond to a welfare check at the residence of 31-year-old Santhosh Katkoori. Authorities found 15 adult women living in the home.
Investigators discovered that the women were being forced to work for Katkoori, his wife Dwaraka Gunda, 31, and multiple programming shell companies owned by the couple.
Adult men were also victims of the forced labor operation at other locations in Princeton, Melissa and McKinney, according to a press release. Police seized laptops, cellphones and documents from other locations and confirmed the details of the operations.
Arrest warrants were issued for Gunda, Katkoori, Chandan Dasireddy, 24, Anil Male, 37. All four were charged with trafficking of persons, which is a second-degree felony.
An investigation is ongoing.
