TEXAS — After missing the opening night of the Outlaw Music Festival Tour 2024 due to an illness, Willie Nelson has recovered and is expected to get on stage again soon.

On Friday, the 91-year-old singer took to social media to share that he wasn't feeling well and was under doctor’s orders to rest over the weekend.

The statement said, “We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and, per doctor’s orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days. He is expected to make a quick recovery and join the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week.”

Nelson is expected to perform Wednesday in Virginia Beach

The Outlaw Music Festival Tour started at Ameris Bank Amphitheater in Alpharetta, Georgia, on June 21. The tour then moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, on June 22; Raleigh, North Carolina, on June 23 and will resume in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on June 26 after a brief break.

Lukas Nelson and the Family Band did a special set in place of Willie Nelson.

A previous statement from Nelson's management said the musician was expected to make “a quick recovery.”
