EAGLE PASS, Texas — A family of five is dead after a FedEx delivery truck crashed into their SUV in Eagle Pass on Tuesday evening. The victims were between the ages of 10 and 71.

The family was traveling westbound on U.S. 57, just east of the U.S.-Mexico border, in a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe when the 2019 truck veered into the opposite lane and struck the Hyundai head-on after 7:50 p.m.

Texas DPS identified the victims as Jose Martinez, 71; Noemi Jimenez Martinez; 61; Joanna Martinez, 34; Samantha Martinez, 25; and a 10-year-old girl. All four adults were pronounced dead at the scene. The girl died in an ambulance en route to the hospital.

The driver of the FedEx truck was injured and transported to a hospital, according to KENS5 News. It’s unknown if they will face charges.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
