AUSTIN, Texas — Mexic-Arte Museum is hosting its annual Taste of Mexico food festival, and this year, antojitos are on the menu.
The festival, which has been a Mexic-Arte tradition since 1998, highlights dishes and drinks from regions all over Mexico. The theme this year is antojitos, or "little cravings" — a staple in Mexican cuisine that encompass delicious appetizers like elotes, tortas, quesadillas, tacos and more.
The event will be held at Republic Square downtown on Wednesday, May 1 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Enjoy not only delicious food and drinks but also fun activities like food demos, DIY screen printing, rounds of loteria and a photo booth. Mariachi and ballet performances will keep the party going throughout the evening.
General admission tickets are $70, and VIP tickets are $85. VIP ticket holders get in slightly early at 5:30 p.m. and get priority admission throughout the event. Browse tickets here.
Ticket sales benefit the museum’s art education programs, which introduce youth to art techniques and careers in the art field.
Mexic-Arte was founded in Austin in 1984 to create a space for Mexican art and culture. The museum regularly holds events like Taste of Mexico and other exhibitions and festivals to enrich the Central Texas community.
